It's a real nice case.
"I own the LCD-2 which came with the Deluxe case and having just purchased the 2021 version of the LCD-X I now have the Economy case as well and can make a direct comparison between the two. Without question the Deluxe case is superior. That said, the Economy case isn't bad. In fact it's a nice case which will secure and protect your valuable LCD series headphones from about any real world concern. It looks nice, closes securely and offers outstanding foam insulation inside. Having both gives the option of swapping cases if necessary, such as when traveling, for instance. Certainly the Economy case is a better option than what comes along with lesser headphones which provide a simple box or carrying pouch or bag, and let's not forget that previous years didn't include a case with their "Creator's Package", instead only offering the Pelican type case with the $1699. Premium Package. This Economy case is constructed, I believe, of some kind of fiber board which is wrapped in a fairly robust aluminum and plastic sheeting. The case is rigid and would require considerable effort to destroy, while providing a secure latching mechanism and comfortable carrying handle in a lightweight box. I personally have not had reason to carry my headphones along with me while traveling and would be fine with the Economy case if traveling by car but suppose the Premium case would be preferred if traveling by air. As a simple storage solution this case should suit anybody's needs."
